This exciting and immersive package gives guests the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with Bali Zoo’s friendly Sumatran elephants. Under the guidance of our experienced mahouts (elephant handlers), you’ll learn fascinating insights into the elephants’ natural behavior and daily routines.

One of the highlights of this experience is discovering how elephants love to bask and roll in mud – a natural way for them to cool off, especially during hot tropical days. Because elephants generate a lot of internal body heat and don’t have sweat glands, mud acts as a natural sunscreen and moisturizer, protecting their skin from the sun and keeping them comfortable.
